Ivy wins our facebook Fathers Day contest with this great story about her Dad! Thanks Ivy, hope Dad enjoys it!
My father should win because he is currently a range master for a local shooting range and in his spare time he teaches kids in 4-H all about shooting sports. He is carrying on the tradition of passing on the passion of shooting & hunting to the next generation. He also spends his time teaching others how to reload their own ammunition as well, how… and when to reuse their casings, and what makes a safe round to shoot.
As much as he does for others, he takes wonderful care of my mom as well, who is not in the best of health. He’s always there for her to take her to doctors appointments, hospital visits or just for a cuddle when she’s feeling really bad.
He also makes the time for his friends, getting up at 6am most days to go play cribbage. One of the gentlemen he plays with is 94 years old! It really brightens both their days to spend some time enjoying life!
Above all, my dad should win, because he is always there for me when I need him. Even as an adult, he never fails to lend an ear when I need to talk, and he’s always willing to come help fix things when things need fixing.
He is my dad, and I love him.
